Fixed costs are trucking expenses that accrue whether or not the truck moves: truck and trailer payments, insurance, permits, ELD subscriptions, software and base plates. They are the reason parked trucks lose money.
Why it matters
Divide monthly fixed costs by expected monthly miles to get the fixed portion of your cost per mile.
