CSA scores are FMCSA safety measurements calculated from roadside inspections, violations and crashes across seven BASIC categories. High scores increase intervention risk, raise insurance premiums and cause some shippers to refuse a carrier.
Why it matters
Scores use a 24-month rolling window weighted toward recent events, so clean months improve the number steadily.
