Out of Service Order
An out-of-service (OOS) order prohibits a driver or vehicle from operating until a serious violation is corrected. Common triggers include brake defects, tire failures, HOS violations and invalid credentials.
Why it matters
OOS violations carry heavy CSA weight and stay visible to shippers and insurers for two years.
