34-Hour Restart
A 34-hour restart resets a driver's 60- or 70-hour weekly cycle after 34 consecutive hours off duty. It allows a driver who has run out of cycle hours to begin a fresh week without waiting for hours to roll off.
Why it matters
The restart is optional; the rolling recap method is an alternative when a full 34 hours off is impractical.
