An IFTA quarterly return is the report a licensed carrier files each quarter listing total miles and taxable miles driven in every jurisdiction along with gallons purchased there. The filing nets tax owed against tax already paid at the pump.
Why it matters
Deadlines are April 30, July 31, October 31 and January 31. Filing late triggers penalties even when you owe nothing.
