Step Deck
A step deck, or drop deck, is a flatbed trailer with a lowered main deck that allows taller freight to be hauled legally without an oversize permit.
Why it matters
A step deck typically allows about 10 feet of cargo height versus 8.5 feet on a standard flatbed.
